About Us

Kim Beggs, MS, LPC, NCC

In today's hectic society, many families struggle to manage responsibilities and maintain satisfying relationships.  Parents often experience stress as they attempt to balance busy work schedules with the demands of raising children.  The natural tension between parents and adolescents has been intensified in the 21st century as appropriate technology use becomes an additional battle ground.  Parents may question their own judgment about what rules are appropriate for their adolescents who are pushing away in an attempt to figure out their place in the world.  In the midst of this "chaos", nurturing the marriage may slip to the bottom of the parents' priority list, resulting in conflict and adding to family stress.

I specialize in all aspects of family counseling with emphasis on healthy communication and divorce prevention.  Focus areas include parent education, premarital and marital counseling, communication and conflict resolution, anger management, assertiveness training, and blended family/stepparenting issues.  I help adolescents and twenty-somethings who are experiencing challenges with life skills, relationships and transitions to explore their personal, family and career goals.  I use the Myers-Briggs personality inventory and other assessments with clients who wish to explore career options and decisions.  My treatment orientation is cognitive-behavioral, but I design interventions and provide resources and skills training which are tailored to my clients' individual preferences and strengths.  I encourage a collaborative approach and offer clients a non-judgmental atmosphere in which to explore satisfying solutions to current life challenges.

I have a Masters degree in Counseling and Human Relations from Villanova University and a Bachelors degree in Education from Bucknell University.  I have completed the Child Sexual Abuse Treatment Certificate Program through Widener University and am trained to help child sexual abuse survivors and those experiencing difficulty dealing with other forms of grief, loss and trauma.

Please feel free to email me directly at [email protected] if you have questions or to schedule an appointment.

Welsley Brutto, MS, LPC, NCC,

There are times we can become stuck in life’s challenges. We can find ourselves discouraged knowing how we would like things to be or how we would like to feel but instead find ourselves unable to navigate the best course. I enjoy helping individuals, couples, and families navigate through such challenges.  My clinical approach is compassionate and engaged; focused on helping you achieve a higher sense of satisfaction and happiness.  My counseling style is steeped in my belief that we are all unique and respond to the difficulties we face in diverse ways. This uniqueness requires an individualized, collaborative, and integrative approach tailored towards your personal strengths and desired goals. I work with clients who are stuck in current or past challenges. I can help you find relief from anxiety, depression, stress, grief, low self-esteem, and addiction. I can help you enhance relationships, rebuild wounded relationships, improve communication, work through grief, navigate parenting struggles, or adjust to an empty nest. I strive to help you develop a greater understanding of yourself while focusing concretely on your goals. Additionally, I work with students and young adults struggling with life’s transitions to effectively navigate change, manage stress, increase balance, develop tools to cope with past pains and successfully build skills for the future.

In our work together, I will utilize an Integrative Wellness and Solution Focused approach pulling from a variety of clinical methods and techniques to meet your desired goals. With a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University and  Bachelors Degree from Shippensburg University, I went on to become licensed in PA as a Professional Counselor as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor.  As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Wellness Coach, and Stress Management Coach,  an integrative approach best utilizes my belief in the connection between the mind and body. In today's hectic world, we are can find ourselves out of balance, stressed, overscheduled and struggling to find time for relaxation.  Together we will embark on a journey towards whole-wellness centered on you achieving optimal satisfaction, happiness, and mindfulness.
